ROLE
The Senior Research TechnologySpecialist is a new position on our Technology team, working closely withOperations and Customer Success. As we build software, you'll help make it work-translating client needs into technical implementations, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring our clients get the high-quality data they need.
This role requires becoming a power user of our technology stack, understanding context deeply, and solving problems independently. You'll bring technical requirements to the development team when gaps arise, implement surveys, debug data, and configure our toolset to deliver the expected outcomes.
Growth potential: This role can expand into direct development work: coding new features, fixing bugs, and expanding our platform capabilities alongside our engineering team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own technical project delivery: Partner with Customer Success to manage advanced technical components of client projects from onboarding through completion
- Program and test complex surveys: Build and validate surveys to ensure we're collecting high-quality data that meets client requirements
- Proactively manage technical risk: Identify potential technical limitations within project scope and develop mitigation strategies before they impact delivery
- Ensure Quality: Build frameworks to test data, track risks, and ensure our studies are set up to collect high-quality data
- Implement advanced survey logic: Assist Customer Success with technical implementation of complex survey flows and conditional logic
- Support power users: Provide technical guidance to clients using our platform, including those running advanced analytics
- Configure and debug studies: Collaborate with Operations to research audience populations, configure study parameters, and troubleshoot implementation issues
- Drive platform enhancement: Identify where our platform can be improved based on real-world requirements and work with the development team to prioritize feature development
- Contribute to product development: Work with our engineering team to build new features, fix bugs, and expand platform capabilities
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
- At least 3 years of experience at a SaaS, technology, or consulting company
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical role (software development, quality assurance, or advanced technical support)
- Strong working understanding of JavaScript, SQL, and general software development practices
- Strong analytical abilities with good instincts for data and proficiency working in databases and tools like Excel or SPSS
- Proven experience managing multiple projects, balancing priorities, and working independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Genuine interest in learning about market research and continuously developing technical skills
